Merck to begin supplying new LED materials
Merck Advanced Technologies, the Korean affiliate of Merck in Germany, said yesterday it will start supplying new LED phosphor materials in line with growing demand in the Korean LED market.LED phosphors are used to coat blue-light emitting LED chips, allowing the blue to be recognized as white by the human eye.
“Merck has continued research and development and productivity improvement since it began in the LED phosphor business in 2007,” said Martina Hueber, global marketing and sales manager of Merck.
