iPhone 5 takes Galaxy S3 out of the top sales slot in Q4
Fourth-quarter sales of Apple’s iPhone 5 surpassed those of rival Samsung Electronics’ flagship Galaxy S3 device despite a parts supply squeeze, data showed yesterday.Sales of iPhone 5 devices reached 27.4 million units from October through December, emerging as the top-selling smartphone during the period, according to data by market researcher Strategy Analytics. The iPhone 5’s market share came to 12.6 percent.
Sales of Galaxy S3 phones, which topped the market in the third quarter, reached 15.4 million units, with a market share of 7.1 percent.
