Teen snaps and fatally stabs his drunk fatherThe Gwangsan Police Precinct in Gwangju said yesterday they arrested a 17 year-old high school boy who snapped and fatally stabbed his drunken father, a police officer.
The police said the boy stabbed his 54-year-old father, who was surnamed Lee, at their home in Woonnam-dong, Gwangsan District at 5:10 p.m.
He immediately called the 119 emergency number and told the operator, “I stabbed my father, please help me.”
The father was rushed to a nearby hospital but died at 9:10 p.m.
In questioning, the son said he stabbed his drunken father after hearing him quarrel with his mother for more than an hour. The couple often quarreled about the father’s drinking.
“I heard my parents saying bad words to each other,” the boy said. “I brought a knife and stabbed him in his back in a fit of anger.”
The police said the boy and his mother seemed in shock and were crying when the emergency rescuers arrived.
