Ryu gets his first win with the DodgersRyu Hyun-jin clinched his first victory in the U.S. on Sunday in an exhibition game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers.
The 25-year-old Korean pitcher surrendered one run on three hits while striking out six in the Dodgers’ 11-1 victory in Camelback Ranch.
The solid pitching, which followed two losses, may brighten his prospects of getting onto the Dodgers’ rotation, with manager Don Mattingly complimenting his improvement.
Ryu told MLB.com after the victory that getting ready for the season is more important to him than meeting the expectations of his $35 million contract.
