Florence festival attracts Korean stars
Award-winning movie star Jeon Do-yeon came back to Korea yesterday after making an appearance at the Florence Korean Film Festival earlier this week.Throughout the 11th edition of the festival, which lasts until Sunday, a total of eight films featuring Jeon were shown, including “Happy End,” “The Housemaid” and “Secret Sunshine.”
She previously won the Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 for “Secret Sunshine.”
Jeon held a press conference Monday with local media and shared her insights on Korean cinema.
On the following day, she also met with fans and director Im Sang-soo, with whom she worked on the movie “The Housemaid.”
The festival, established in 2003 by the Toscana Korea Association, features a variety of Korean movies during its annual event. Many Korean movie veterans, including directors Park Chan-wook and Kim Ki-duk and actor Song Kang-ho, have visited the festival to meet with Italian fans.
