Daewoo E&C gets another condominium job in Singapore

Daewoo Engineering & Construction said yesterday it has won a $140 million order to build condominiums in Singapore.

The nation’s third largest builder in terms of construction capacity said it signed a deal with Singapore’s leading real estate developer, City Developments Limited (CDL), to construct two 43-floor buildings in the Alexandria area.

Daewoo E&C said it expects to take 36 months to complete the project.

This is the fourth major construction order the builder has won in Singapore since it entered the market last year. Daewoo E&C said CDL asked them to bid on the project. “Singapore is the largest construction market in Southeast Asia as large public infrastructure projects and private orders are continuously issued,” Daewoo E&C said in a release. “This year, major projects like building condominiums, hotels and offices are about to come out, and we are hoping to get those orders.”
