Doosan Infracore goes green with fuel-efficient excavator

Doosan Infracore, Korea’s leading manufacturer of construction equipment, said yesterday it has released a 38-ton excavator named DX380LC-3 that has improved fuel efficiency by 24 percent.

The affiliate of Doosang Group said it applied its “D-Ecopower” technology, a new electro-hydraulic control system, to minimize pressure loss through the main control valve, and use engine power more effectively.

The company has been working with Germanys’ Bosch-Rexroth to develop fuel-efficient technology since 2007. It will introduce other new excavators with the technology at Bauma 2013?in Munich. The trade show for construction machinery and equipment opens April 15.

“We are trying to follow the market trend of ‘fuel efficient and environment friendly’ in construction machines,” Doosan Infracore said. “Our new technology is a strong foundation to raise our competitiveness.”
