Ballad queen hopes for fame in Japan

테스트

Baek Ji-young

Baek Ji-young may bring her fame as a ballad queen to Japan just as she did 15 years ago at home.

Tickets to her debut showcase in Tokyo on May 1 sold out as soon as they were released, said local media quoting reports in Japan.

At “Premium Night,” she will perform in front of 400 fans at Akasaka Blitz.

She will sing Japanese-language versions of “Don’t Forget,” “I Won’t Love” and “That Woman” along with “Good Boy” and “Candy to My Ears” in Korean.

In the run-up to ticket sales, Baek’s agency released a two-minute teaser video on YouTube, garnering even more attention.

Prior to embarking on her journey to Japan next month, Baek released “Acacia,” which swept local music charts immediately. The song is part of her album titled “Flash Back,” a collection of the television drama soundtracks she recorded.

Baek is currently on her first national tour concert in seven years. She performed in Seoul, Busan and Daegu, and will continue to Daejeon on Saturday.
