STX Group discusses LNG business with Russia’s Putin

STX Group said its Chairman Kang Duk-soo discussed liquefied natural gas, or LNG, business with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Korean company, Chairman Kang held a video conference with Putin, Igor Sechin, president of Russia’s largest state-owned oil company Rosneft, and Neil Duffin, president of Exxon Mobil Development, on Thursday.

The project is developing gas on the Pacific island of Sakhalin. The production of the liquefied gas is expected to begin in 2018, and the gas will be supplied to North Asia including Korea.
