1 killed, 2 hurt in Philippines

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday that a Korean man was shot dead and two other Koreans were injured in a shooting at around 4:30 p.m. Monday (Philippine time) in Angeles City, north of Manila.

“The victims are believed to be Korean residents who have currency exchange-related jobs there. They were shot by two or three unidentified gunmen when they got in a car after dining at a Chinese restaurant,” an official of the Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.

The official added that the suspected gunmen appear to be Filipinos.

Among the two injured, one was initially in critical condition but later recovered, while the other suffered only minor injuries. What caused the shooting is unknown at the moment.
