Boeing picks KAL as one of its top suppliers

Korean Air Lines, the nation’s flag carrier, said yesterday that it had received an award from Boeing as one of the top suppliers for the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer.

KAL said it was selected in the Pathfinder category for Boeing’s Supplier of the Year Award on Thursday evening (local time). Boeing has more than 11,000 suppliers in over 52 countries and hands out 17 awards.

KAL said the Pathfinder award is given to those who show outstanding performance improvements during the year. The company previously won awards from Boeing in 2001 and 2007. The affiliate of Hanjin Group has been manufacturing aircraft parts for Boeing since 1986 and has been a partner for the B787 since 2004.
