International air passengers really take off in first quarter
Korea’s international air passenger volume in this first quarter reached a record high, with 12.51 million flying into or out of the country.According to data released by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, international air traffic volume jumped 10 percent year-on-year. Passengers to and from China jumped 14.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, while passengers to and from Southeast Asian countries increased 13.8 percent.
The ministry said 65.9 percent of international passengers used flights from Korean flag carriers.
