Korea’s air cargo traffic volume down on shrinking exports

Korea’s air cargo traffic volume in the first quarter has decreased 2.2 percent on-year to 838,000 tons, indicating shrinking in exports.

According to data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, international air cargo volume in the January-March period was 775,000 tons, a 0.9 percent year-to-year drop.

Outbound shipments to Europe, Japan and the United States have decreased, but air cargo to China and the Middle East increased thanks to exports of cell phones and semi-conductors, the ministry said.
