Jongro Sanghoi restaurant to head stateside in September
Jongro Sanghoi, a local chain specializing in grilled pork and pork barbecue, plans to open its first U.S. restaurant in Manhattan, New York, in September.
The restaurant chain has been supplying domestic pork at 30 percent cheaper prices to its 70 locations nationwide through direct trading with livestock producers.
Jongro Sanghoi said it expects the growing demand for Korean culture and food, as well interest in Korean barbecue, in the U.S. will attract customers.
The chain is scheduled to open restaurants in Los Angeles and in Annandale, Virginia, by the end of the year.
