GS Engineering gets a piece of Turkey oil refinery project
GS Engineering & Construction has bagged a $1.37 billion order from Turkey to help build an oil refinery.The nation’s fourth-largest builder said its consortium including Spain’s TR, Italy’s Saipem and Japan’s Itochu Group won a $3.45 billion deal from Socar & Turcas Aegean Rafineri. The project will be in Izmir, 610 kilometers (370 miles) south of Istanbul. The plant will refine 210,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
GS will take care of engineering, procurement and construction of desulfurization facilities of naphtha and kerosene. Construction is estimated to take 51 months.
