Hyundai Heavy inks $750M deal for semi-submersible rig

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a $750 million order from U.S.-based Diamond Offshore Drilling to build a semi-submersible rig, the Korean shipbuilder said yesterday.
The company will take care of all the work, including engineering and procurement, and test drive the project.
The semi-submersible drill rig, which is 123 meters (403 feet) long and 96 meters wide, can drill to depth of 12,200 meters.
It is scheduled to be delivered November 2015 and will be installed in Great Australia Bright, according to the world’s biggest shipbuilder.
