Lee Min-woo of boy band Shinhwa and Hyoyeon and Yuri of Girls’ Generation will join cable channel Mnet’s survival dance program “Dancing 9” as dance coaches.

“[All three] are known as major dancers and singers that are popular at the current times,” said Kim Yong-beom, chief producer of the program. “Lee, especially, has been not only making choreography for his group, but also showing talents in producing, which made him a star among the fellow singers.”

Kim added that members of Girls’ Generation are suitable for the program as they are global trendsetters in cosmetics and clothing.

The stars who will join the team are said to be excited as well.

“As I have met many fans in many different countries through my 15 years of working in the group Shinhwa, I had felt that dance is the genre that transcends anything, including language, age or sexuality,” said Lee.

The two members of Girls’ Generation agreed that dance makes people of all languages gather together for a harmonious performance.

“We want to share experiences and tips we have accumulated on fashion, trends, stage performance and teamwork with contestants of the program so that they can have some practical help,” said Hyoyeon and Yuri.

The program, which starts its run on July 20, now has eight dance coaches, who will work in two teams to encourage the contestants to advance their dance techniques.
