RSM SM5 Platinum taxis are en route to Singapore

Renault Samsung Motors said yesterday it has shipped 302 SM5 Platinum taxis to Singapore.

The Korean unit of French automaker Renault in April signed a deal with Wearnes Automotive to supply 1,275 taxis. The Singapore importer said RSM taxis will be used by country’s No. 2 taxi company, Trans Cab.

It was the largest taxi supply deal in Asia for the Renault Group.

For use in Singapore, RSM said its SM5 Platinum midsize sedan, also known as Latitude in overseas, will have right-hand drive and a 2,000cc diesel engine.
