Friday, Saturday: JJ Mahoney’s at Grand Hyatt Seoul will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its opening this year.

JJ Mahoney’s first opened its doors in June 1988 as Korea prepared to host the Olympic Games.

This Friday and Saturday, JJ’s will be hosting its 25th Birthday Party, “Cool in the Pool” which promises to be a party like no other.

This celebration will not only include the club’s party rooms, but will spill out into the Grand Hyatt Seoul’s spectacular pool area and gardens as well.

A world-renowned DJ, Louis Tham, and JJ’s live band, Heat, will be performing live, adding intensity to the evening. The event will include lucky draws for United Airlines tickets to the United States, hotel accommodation at 25 Hyatt hotels worldwide, dining certificates and other prizes, welcome beverages and more. All guests will receive a JJ folding fan as a gift, specially made for its 25th anniversary.

There will also be a JJ photo contest on the Grand Hyatt Seoul’s Facebook fan page. The top 25 people who upload their photos of JJ Mahoney’s will get a prize. Participate at www.facebook.com/grandhyattseoul.

The 25th anniversary party admission is 35,000 won ($31) including tax.

Through Aug. 31: The hotel introduces its “Buon Giorno Plaza” package for the summer vacation season. The package features three types of guest rooms along with various benefits such as sweet Italian white wines, a Mediterranean breakfast or an Italian chef’s special dinner.

The Buon Giorno Plaza Deluxe package includes one night in a Deluxe Room, designed by Italian architect and interior designer Guido Ciompi, and an Italian white wine and cheese platter. Guests can enjoy the room with spectacular views of Seoul Plaza, Gwanghwamun, and Gyeongbok Palace. The wine included is Umberto Fiore Moscato d’Asti, the royal family’s wine in the Piedmont region of Italy. The price is 230,000 won excluding taxes and service charges.

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul

Through Aug. 31: The hotel is offering two special packages designed to beat the summer heat.

The “Beer Party” package is perfect for those looking to unwind in air-conditioned comfort with fried chicken and cool beer. The package includes one night in a Superior Room, as well as two bottles of beer, chicken wings and french fries delivered in-room. Guests with children will be offered optional soft drinks instead of beer. The package costs 259,000 won for two people, including taxes and service charges.

Those who prefer to cool off outdoors on a summer’s evening will love the “Evening Picnic” package. The package includes a JW Marriott logo-embedded picnic mat, a chiller bag with two bottles of beer, two packs of juice, chocolate bars and snacks. Banpo Hangang Riverside Park is just 10 minutes’ walk from JW Marriott Hotel Seoul.

The “Evening Picnic” package costs 249,000 won per person; a version of the same package that includes breakfast for two adults and complimentary breakfast for up to two children 7 or below is available for 299,000 won, including taxes and service charges.

Through Aug. 31: The hotel is offering a “Festive Girls Delight” package, which offers a choice of one night in either an Executive Suite or a Balcony Premier Suite, both featuring private balconies with great views of the city. The package includes a bottle of sparkling wine and finger food such as sandwiches, canapes and mini pastries served in-room, while a Polaroid camera is available in each room for hours of fun taking party snaps.

The camera is provided on loan only but includes complimentary film.

The first 10 guests to reserve the “Festive Girls’ Delight” package will be offered a complimentary three-bottle set of Bourjois So Laque nail polish. The package costs 320,000 won, excluding taxes and service charges.

Through Aug. 31: The hotel invites talented Asian chefs from China and India during this summer. Golden Dragon, the hotel’s authentic Chinese restaurant will invite dim sum experts and hot Chinese cuisine specialists Will Chen and Jimmy Ou, who will bring out authentic Chinese cuisine for the Korean guests. Both chefs have experiences of organizing national banquets and each chef was once awarded the 2001 Chongqing International Cup Gold Medal at the prestigious cooking competition.

The exceptional Chinese cuisine promotion is programmed with a lunch set and dinner set. The lunch set is available at 90,000 won and the dinner set costs 130,000 won. All prices are per person, with taxes and service charges included.

Meanwhile, The View, the hotel’s dinner and cafe and Four Seasons, the buffet restaurant, will welcome brilliant Indian tandoori expert chefs, D.Sabariraja and Ansar Ali from Sheraton Bangalore Hotel. On July 6, a special Indian dinner buffet will run at The View.

Exotic but delicate Indian food will consist of a lunch set and dinner set.

For the Indian food promotion, lunch is available for 50,000 won whereas the dinner is 70,000 won. All prices are per person, with taxes and service charges included.
