Doosan upgrades status of 700 of its temporary workers

Doosan Group announced yesterday it will turn 700 nonregular workers into full-time workers, the first time the nation’s 10th-largest conglomerate has done so.

The group said 27 percent of Doosan’s 2,600 nonregular workers in both manufacturing and office jobs will be converted by May 2014 when after their nonregular contract expires.

Employees at Doosan Heavy Industries’ environmental safety, quality check and design departments and at Doosan Infracore’s technology and product development support division will be affected, Doosan said.
