CITYBREAK: HYUNDAI CARD SUPER CONCERT

Aug. 17 and 18: More than 30 bands fill this two-day festival. Muse will headline the first night, along with such acts as Iggy and the Stooges and the Korean band Chang Kiha and the Faces. On the second day, Japandroids and Korea’s Apollo 18 are on the bill, with Metallica headlining.

To July 27: Based on four themes - legend, challenge, crossover and choice - this music festival is being held for the fourth time. For four weeks, there will be a variety of events, including the concert “Oriental Scenery” by gayageum (traditional Korean zither-like instrument) player Hwang Byeong-ki, photographer Bae Byung-woo, and conductor and pianist Yang Bang-ean.
Also on the schedule is a concert titled “Arirang, the Song of Life - Pyeongchang, Gangwondo,” by singers Kim Ok-nyu and Kim Yoo-jin.
Tickets for indoor concerts are 30,000 won, while outdoor concerts are free.

Aug. 14 and 15: The annual Super Sonic rock festival will invite English duo Pet Shop Boys, veteran band Earth, Wind & Fire and New Zealand singer Willy Moon along with Korean artists including Dickpunks and Super Kidd for the first day. The second day features veteran singer Cho Yong-pil (who is enjoying quite a resurgence with his new album, “Hello”), as well as rapper Verbal Jint, rock band Jaurim and American rock band Hot Chelle Rae.
Concert schedule to be determined.
One-day tickets cost 77,000 won while two-day tickets cost 88,000 won.

2013 ASAN VALLEY ROCK FESTIVAL
Asan Daebu Sea Breeze Theme Park
July 26 to 28: Performers include alternative rock bands Stereophonics and My Bloody Valentine; the electronic band Idiotape; Roy Kim, winner of “Super Star K4”; and The Cure.
The festival begins Friday and runs to Sunday, with camping available from Thursday night.
One-day tickets cost 120,000 won, and three-day tickets are 230,000 won. Camping tickets, which are available only for three-day ticket holders, start at 245,000 won.

Aug. 2 to 4: An array of bands will perform at this three-day festival. Korean rock pioneer Deulgukhwa, English alternative rock band Suede, American rock band Fall Out Boy, Hot Potato and Dickpunks are all on the schedule.
The festival starts at 10 a.m. Friday and runs until Sunday.
Three-day tickets are 140,000 won until this Friday.
One-day, two-day and camping tickets will soon be made available.
