In annual imported fruit report, nobody beats the top banana

Bananas turned out to be the No. 1 imported fruit last year, according to a study released by Korea Custom Services.

In 2012, 368,000 tons of bananas were imported, which represents 48.7 percent of all fruits shipped to Korea. Bananas have held the top spot for the past 10 years.

Oranges came in second at 174,000 tons, followed by pineapples (73,000 tons), grapes (59,000 tons) and kiwi fruit (29,000 tons).
