A Korean consortium of LG International and Hyundai Engineering has secured a $240 million order to expand an oil refinery in Turkmenistan.

According to the companies yesterday, the consortium signed a contract with Petronas Carigali to expand facilities in Kiyanly on the west coast of Turkmenistan by the end of 2015.

The consortium will manage project on a turnkey basis. If the process is completed, the refinery will be able to process an additional 10,000 barrels of crude oil and 35 million cubic meters (1.23 billion cubic feet) of natural gas per day.

This is the third time LG International and Hyundai Engineering have teamed up to win orders in Turkmenistan.
