Reality show risks cancelling

The KBS entertainment show “1 Night, 2 Days” is in danger of being canceled in the fall, according to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.

“In September, during the fall reshuffle, a change of production staff or canceling the show altogether is going to be discussed for ‘1 Night, 2 Days,’” said a TV industry insider.

“It’s not just the show’s ratings, but the buzz around the program is not good compared to the old days, so insiders are currently talking about ending it.”

“1 Night, 2 Days,” which was first aired in August 2007, was widely loved by audiences for years, with ratings climbing to 30 percent in 2010.

However, after regular guests started to leave the show, including Kang Ho-dong in 2011, Eun Ji-won in 2012 and Lee Seung-gi, the show started to lose its audience.

KBS denies the show is in any danger of being cancelled.
