Ford Sales & Service Korea voluntarily recalls vehicles

Ford Sales & Service Korea is voluntarily recalling more than 3,600 vehicles due to defects in fuel pump connections and child safety door locks, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said yesterday.

According to the ministry, Ford Korea will recall 3,453 units of its Explorer, Taurus and Fusion, along with Lincoln models MKS and MKZ manufactured from Jan. 9, 2012, to March 22, 2013.

The ministry said the company also will recall 236 units of Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS, produced between Nov. 29 and Dec. 12 last year, because locks that prevent children from opening doors while the car is moving could release when the door is shut. The problems will be repaired at no charge at Ford and Lincoln service shops.
