Ssangyong grabs safety prize for Singapore subway project

Ssangyong Engineering and Construction said yesterday it has won a prize at Singapore’s Annual Safety Award Convention (ASAC) after its Downtown Line Phase 2 subway construction project was selected as the top construction site for safety.

The award looks at safety measures on all construction projects ordered by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. This year, only four construction sites were rewarded with the highest-level Certificate of Excellence among 100 in competition, and of those, Ssangyong E&C grabbed the top prize.

Ssangyong E&C has been a frequent winner in ASAC since 2010. Last year, two of its construction projects received the Certificate of Excellence. It has marked 36 million accident-free man-hours in Singapore since 2010. Ssangyong E&C is working on 16 projects in eight countries, worth 3 trillion won.
