Hankook Tire plans test and engineering center in Sangju
Hankook Tire, the nation’s largest tire manufacturer, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with Sangju government to establish a test engineering center in the city.The company said that it will invest 253.5 billion won ($254 million) by 2020 to build the center on 1.3 million square meters (321.2 acres) of land in Sangju, North Gyeongsang.
The center will have road surfaces from around the world and high-tech facilities to test its tires.
The company said 371 people will work for the center, and it expects to create additional jobs for the region.
