Director confronts critics

Film director Kim Jho Gwang-soo, who took the plunge and married his boyfriend Kim Seung-hwan earlier this month, has taken to Twitter to air his grievances online about their critics.

On Monday Kim Jho tweeted that civil complaints were being lodged at Seodaemun District Office by a homophobic organization and individuals.

“We are just playing by the rules. What’s their problem?” wrote Kim Jho. He also added it was probably fear that is making people react that way.

Kim Jho’s husband Kim told Star News that the organization behind the complaint was infamous for similar antics.

“The organization has acted like this before, and even within Christian organizations it’s known for being unreasonable,” Kim told the news Web site.

The two men tied the knot along Cheonggye Stream in central Seoul on Sept. 7, with many movie insiders and politicians in attendance, along with hundreds of well-wishers.

Afterward, the newlyweds made it clear they planned on consulting their lawyer and filing the appropriate paperwork to register their marriage.

Seodaemum Office, the office that will process the Kims’ marriage paperwork, has said it will deal with their application in the usual manner and leave it up to the law what to do.
