Perfect weather seen during holiday

The three-day Chuseok holiday, which begins today, should be a nice one. Weather forecasts call for a period of warm autumnal weather combined with gentle breezes, creating an ideal setting for this year’s harvest rituals.

No rain is expected, but there will be a great temperature difference between day and night. Today and tomorrow are forecast to reach 27 to 29 degrees Celsius (82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit) in much of the country, according to Korea Meteorological Administration. The nights’ lows will vary much more, ranging from 14 to 22 degrees Celsius, with Seoul forecast to reach 18 degrees.

But the weather agency said that the latter half of the holidays, running from Friday through Sunday, will see cloudy skies during the day, with temperatures of about 26 to 27 degrees. Lows will range from 15 to 23 degrees, with the Seoul area expected to be 17 to 19 degrees. Southern cities and Jeju Island are forecast to have lows in the 20 to 23 range.
