Doosan to build cogeneration power plant in Saemangeum

Doosan Heavy Industries yesterday said it secured an order worth 504.4 billion won ($469 million) from Ocise to build a cogeneration power plant in Gunsan, North Jeolla.

The 303-megawatt plant will be constructed on 162,153 square meters (40 acres) of land at Saemangeum Industrial Complex and will provide power to the companies there. It is the first infrastructure construction project within the Saemangeum complex.

Doosan will carry out the project on an engineering-procurement-construction basis and aims to complete it by March 2016. It will supply steam turbines and the circulating fluidized boiler from its plant in Changwon, South Gyeongsang.

The company in recent years has won orders to supply core parts to cogeneration plants in Pocheon, Yangju and Sejong.
