Nicole wants to continue with KaraNicole from the girl group Kara may not be renewing her contract with the group’s management, DSP Media, but the singer said yesterday that she would still like to work with Kara at least some of the time.
“I want to try to build up myself, and to be able to do that I need some time to myself,” Nicole said on her Twitter account on Sunday.
“I think a way could be found to keep the group together, even without my being affiliated with the agency,” she wrote.
However, the agency is skeptical about such a possibility.
“The company can, for now, only say that Nicole didn’t want to sign the contract, and we have not considered whether she could work with the other members of the group without a contract,” said an official at DSP Media, according to Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.
Local media first reported on Friday that three members of Kara had renewed their contracts but that Nicole had declined to do so.
The fifth Kara member, Kang Ji-young, has not yet decided what to do when her contract expires in April next year.
