Doosan Group loses out on gas turbine company
Doosan Group said yesterday its negotiation to buy Ansaldo Energia has officially ended, although it will have ongoing talks with the Italian company and new owner regarding technology alliances and other business strategies.Doosan Heavy Industries, a core affiliate of the Doosan Group, has been trying to acquire Ansaldo Energia, hoping to create synergy in gas turbine development. However, the company was sold over the weekend to Fondo Strategico Italiano, a fund run by the Italian state-owned development bank Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).
