Hyundai E&C-led consortium gets Sri Lankan resort contract

A consortium led by Hyundai Engineering and Construction has secured a $522 million order to build a resort in Sri Lanka.

Hyundai E&C, the nation’s largest builder, said yesterday that it, along with Keangnam Enterprises and local company Nawaloka, will build a multiuse complex in Colombo by November 2017 after signing a deal with a subsidiary of Sri Lanka’s top conglomerate, John Keells Holdings.

The consortium will build a 35-story hotel, office building, two residence buildings and other commercial structures.
