Second star loses in ‘Hidden Singer’

Following last week’s defeat of the veteran ballad singer Shin Seung-hun during JTBC’s second season of “Hidden Singer,” Jo Sung-mo, another famed balladeer, was also defeated by an impostor during the latest episode of the program, which aired on Saturday.

“Hidden Singer” features big-name singers and no-name imposters in competitive sing-offs from behind a curtain, leaving judges to guess who is the real star and who is faking it. In the first season, no celebrity lost a competition, but now two have fallen in two weeks.

In the second round of Saturday’s show, Jo sang his hit “To Heaven,” but the judges thought another singer sounded more like the real Jo.

After getting eliminated, Jo said that he “enjoyed shooting the program so much that he wouldn’t be as happy even if he defeated his imposters.”

The winner of the Jo episode went to Yim Sung-hyun, who survived to the fourth round.
