Fresh from U.S., Wu goes to Pyongyang
China’s chief nuclear negotiator arrived in North Korea yesterday, the communist country said, amid intensifying efforts to restart the stalled denuclearization talks.The North’s Central News Agency reported late yesterday evening that Wu Dawei, Beijing’s chief negotiator in the six-party nuclear talks, arrived in Pyongyang with his entourage. The news agency did not immediately elaborate on the purpose of his visit.
Wu’s trip follows a trip to Washington last week. He had two days of consultations with Glyn Davis, the U.S. special representative for North Korea policy, and other senior officials. It was Wu’s second trip to the United States since August.
