Lotte E&C wins deal to build $62 million road in Vietnam

Lotte Engineering & Construction, the nation’s seventh-largest builder, has won a $62 million order to build a highway in Vietnam.

The company said yesterday that it signed a deal with Vietnam Expressway Corporation to construct a highway that connects the city of Da Nang and the province of Quang Ngai.

Lotte E&C is responsible for building 14.6 kilometers (nine miles) of a four-lane road in each direction. It is expected to take three years to complete.

Lotte E&C said it hopes to get more projects in Southeast Asia after winning the project in Vietnam.

The affiliate of Lotte Group is currently building a 65-story building in Hanoi and won a $32 million order in December to upgrade railways in Lao Cai Province, Vietnam.
