JYP Entertainment has new idols

JYP Entertainment - home of K-pop stars such as 2PM, Miss A and Sunmi - appears to be getting a new group.

The agency announced yesterday that its new group, 5Live recorded the song “Lovely Girl” for the soundtrack of the KBS drama “Beautiful Man,” which features actor Jang Geun-suk and singer IU.

Surprisingly, several members of 5Live will be known to K-pop fans, as they appeared on the reality program “Win,” which aired on Mnet this fall.

“Win” featured two teams squaring off for the chance to become the next big K-pop group under the management of YG Entertainment, home of Big Bang and 2NE1.

One one episode, though, JYP Entertainment joined the competition, having the guys in 5Live square off against the YG Entertainment trainees.

JYP Entertainment says it is not sure if the final lineup of 5Live will be the same guys who appeared on “Win” or even how many members the group will have, but the new idol act is supposed to appear early next year.
