Hyundai Motor gets a legend to direct global advertising

Innocean, the advertising affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, said it hired Bob Isherwood, one of the biggest figures in the industry, to ramp up the automaker’s global marketing.

The company said the 72-year-old Australian was named head of the company’s new global creative council.

The council is made up of Innocean’s executive creative directors from 15 of its overseas operations. The first meeting of the council, scheduled to be held in Seoul next month, will be led by Isherwood.

Isherwood is a living legend in the industry. He started working in New York at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1986 and has been in charge of creating ad campaigns for such brands as Toyota and P&G as the company’s worldwide creative director between 1996 and 2008. Saatchi & Saatchi is a global advertisement agency with 130 offices in 70 countries.
