Hankook Tire picks up deal to supply BMW’s latest SUV
Hankook Tire, the nation’s largest tire maker, said yesterday it will supply original equipment tires to BMW’s premium luxury sport utility vehicle, X5.This is the fifth BMW model for which the company will provide tires. It previously supplied the Mini and BMW 1, 3 and 5 Series.
The tire manufacturer said that for X5, its “Ventus S1 Evo² SUV” tire will be used. The high performance tire boasts reduced rolling resistance to increase fuel efficiency.
Hankook has been expanding its presence by supplying tires to luxury carmakers. It recently inked a deal to supply tires to Mercedes-Benz E Class and S Class models.
