CJ Korea Express boosts convenience store business
CJ Korea Express, the nation’s largest parcel service provider, said yesterday the number of packages delivered via convenience stores has surpassed 10 million in a year.CJ Korea Express has been picking up or delivering customers’ packages at convenience stores like CU and GS25 since 2002. In the first year, the company handled 170,000 packages.
This year it expects to deliver 12 million packages.
The company said that the service got popular because customers can always bring their packages to convenience stores, which operate around the clock and are nearby.
An increase in single-person households also boosted the business via convenience stores, the company said, because no one in those households wants to wait for deliveries.
