Break dancer wins world title

Korean B-boy Hong 10 was crowned World Champion of the Red Bull BC One on Friday in the 10-year anniversary of the Red Bull-sponsored break-dancing event in Jamsil, southern Seoul.

The competition was a fierce battle of moves, with 16 B-boys vying for the coveted honor of becoming the world’s No.1 break dancer. After much deliberation, judges decided on Hong 10, citing his perfect combination of technique, rhythm and style. Hong 10, who was also the 2006 champion, said he was stoked to win for the second time at the Red Bull event. “I can’t explain how happy and shocked I am that I won, especially this 10th anniversary year,” he said.

Millions watched the World Final via www.redbullbcone.com, which marked the end of one-on-one battles over the past nine months that took place across six continents in a record 53 countries. Hong 10 and Wing, the 2008 champion, represented Korea.
