Winner draws fans in Japan

The new idol group Winner, introduced by YG Entertainment, attracted 8,000 fans in Japan in its first official event on Monday.

The group had its first performance in Osaka, and members of the group, who were trainees at YG and earned their title by winning the auditions, have not yet made an official debut.

Winner was formed last month after competing with another group of trainees on the TV program “Win: Who Is Next.”

The members introduced the group in Japanese and then shared how excited they were to be in Osaka. They presented their own gigs by dancing and singing.

They selected 300 fans at the event and invited them to come up to the stage.

Winner’s members have been performing for three days in front of about 15,000 fans as part of Big Bang’s national tour across Japan.

The boy band will continue performing with Big Bang in Fukuoka on Saturday and Sunday before moving on to Nagoya, Tokyo and other cities in Japan.
