New show follows boy band

YG Entertainment is gearing up to promote Winner, its new boy group, and plans are under way for a reality television show focusing on the band’s training with the agency prior to their official debut.

Titled “Winner TV,” the program’s first episode is set to air this Friday on the cable channel Mnet. The series will have 10 episodes.

The group is currently performing as part of Big Bang’s concert tour across Japan. Footage from those performances will also be included in the show, as will the group’s recent 8,000-strong fan meeting.

“We’ve decided to launch a program on the group,” the agency said yesterday, “as many fans have requested it. [Viewers] can get a look at the star-training system at YG and get to know the personalities of the group members.” By Lee Sun-min
