Teens’ performance goes viral

After only two episodes, participants from “K-Pop Star 3,” a reality singing competition, are already making their way into the spotlight.

The act that seems to be receiving the most media attention at the moment is a group of three 17-year-olds, made up of one girl and two boys, who are from the countryside.

A video clip of their performance has already gone viral.

But the teens’ musical ability isn’t the reason for their popularity as much as their pure naivete. And Hwang In-soo, who plays the Cajon, a box-shaped percussion instrument, may be the most oblivious of the three.

The trio said they made their own Cajon, as they couldn’t afford one, a sentiment that won over the judges. But despite their initial affection for the group, Hwang’s offbeat performance had them bursting into fits of laughter. The hilarity of the situation, however, was lost on the young musician, who kept on playing - a wide smile across his face the entire time.

Even Park Jin-young, known for being one of the more sentimental judges, cried from laughing so hard.
