Hyundai Motor announces

plans for motorsport festival

Hyundai Motor said yesterday it will sponsor Korea’s biggest downtown racing festival in a bid to expand motorsport culture in cooperation with the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and Incheon Development and Tourism Corporation.

The nation’s top automaker said “The Brilliant Motor Festival” will start from next year near Songdo International Business District in Incheon.

The inaugural festival is scheduled for May 16 to 18 and will include the 2014 Korea Speed Festival racing event, a K-pop concert, a driving school and auto technology exhibits.

Hyundai, which recently launched its World Rally Championship team, said it also will sponsor K Festival, a Korean Wave event, in late 2014.
