Yong Joon-hyung prepares to ‘Flower’

Beast member Yong Joon-hyung spoke out about taking the stage without his boy band members. Ahead of his debut solo performance, “Flower,” on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on Friday, Yong told OSEN that despite some fears, it was a natural move for him.

“While I was writing songs for others, I thought a lot about a solo career,” said Yong, adding that he decided to record the song that he’d written at the urging of his agency’s head.

“It’s scary, and although I’m not usually one to shy away because I’m so used to being with the other five guys, this is all new,” said Yong.

He added that he was also happy that band member Yang Yo-seob stopped by earlier during rehearsals to wish him well.

Yong said that this was just the beginning of his solo endeavors.

“More than anything I want to write and sing the kind of music that I like,” said the idol singer, who said he is looking to make quality songs over popular hits produced for the masses. Yong will spend some time promoting his latest song on his own.
