Hyndai Rotem reports contract worth $117 million in Brazil

Hyundai Rotem, the nation’s leading train manufacturer under Hyundai Motor Group, said yesterday it has been selected to supply 124.8 billion won ($117 million) worth of trains to Brazil’s Companhia do Metro da Salvador.
Hyundai Rotem said that with the deal, its projects in Brazil have surpassed 1 trillion won and supplied 630 trains to four subway operators.
The Korean train maker said that for this project, which is to supply trains used for Salvador No. 2 line, it beat France’s Alstom in bidding after forming a consortium with a local company.
