Actress drops drug appeal
Actress Jang Mi-in-ae, one of several celebrities found guilty of the illegal use of the drug propofol, has decided to drop her appeal against the original sentence.Jang was found guilty last month and was given eight months in prison and two years’ probation.
Two other celebrities who were found guilty of the same charges, actress Lee Seung-yeon and Park Si-yeon, said they accepted the decision, but at first Jang said she wanted to clear her name.
A legal representative of Jang reportedly told her that there was little chance of overturning the ruling.
Jang filed the document to drop her appeal at the Seoul Central District Court on Thursday, ending her 10-month legal battle.
