Posco E&C wins power plant order in Mollendo, Peru
Posco Engineering and Construction said yesterday that it won a $300 million order to build a power generation plant in Peru.
The affiliate of Korea’s largest steelmaker, Posco, said that it received the contract from Samay 1 S.A., a Peruvian power company, which asks the company to build a 720 megawatt gas-fired thermal power plant in Mollendo, some 1,055 kilometers south of the capital Lima.
Posco E&C said it prepared the project with its affiliate Santos CMI, an Ecaudor-based construction firm, since last October.
