Major channels ban ‘Shower Later’

The rapper Gary, best known as half of the hip-hop duo Leessang, may have one of the hottest songs in Korea these days with “Shower Later,” but don’t expect to see him performing it on the nation’s terrestrial channels.

KBS and MBC have joined SBS in banning the sexually frank song from being performed on any of their programs.

SBS was the first channel to ban “Shower Later,” making its decision last week.

All three broadcasters announced similar reasons for the ban, citing the song’s sexual language and subject matter and saying the song is not suitable to air because it could harm younger viewers.

The ban on the song also applies to its very racy music video, which features several attractive models in revealing clothing operating heavy machinery.
